About Nutrition & Hydration
Week
Every March Since 2012
Nutrition and Hydration Week has taken place every March since 2012. Its purpose is to bring people together to create energy, focus and fun in order to highlight and educate people on the value of food and drink in maintaining health and well being in health and social care.
Organisations from around the world and from all areas of health and social care take part and new organisations are welcome to join in the fun.
Global Tea Party
The highlight of the week is the Global Tea Party which takes place on the Wednesday and where we invite all our community to hold a tea party wherever they are and share the fun on social media.
The Nutrition and Hydration Week Team
Nutrition and Hydration Week was initially run by a small team of experts, Derek Johnson, Andy Jones and Caroline Lecko, who donate their time for free.
When Nutrition and Hydration Week finished in 2025, two of the three founders stepped back from being involved in overseeing the week. After 15 years Caroline Lecko and Derek Johnson decided to step back as they were no longer involved in the day to day operations of health and social care and felt the week needed people who are involved in regular frontline operations to keep the Week current and moving forward.
Andy Jones will continue to oversee the week and he will be joined by Charlotte Trumper, and if anyone else would like to assist please contact Andy or Charlotte on nhweek@yahoo.com, or via DM on social media.
